“Allianz Ayudhya Takes Children on a Bangkok Tour” Returns for Its 13th Year to Foster Patriotism among Youth

Allianz Ayudhya Assurance, in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Education and with support from Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, the Bangkok National Museum, Museum Siam, and the Coin Museum, has continued the “Allianz Ayudhya Takes Children on a Bangkok Tour” project into its 13th year.
The project aims to foster patriotism among young people while promoting tourism, enhancing their potential, providing opportunities for learning outside the classroom, and encouraging future careers as tour guides. To date, a total of 45,323 students under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration have participated in the program.
Ms. Patchara Taweechaiwattana, Deputy President of Marketing Management and Corporate Communications at Allianz Ayudhya Assurance Public Company Limited, stated that the project had been successfully implemented for 12 years, with this year marking its 13th anniversary. The program has received strong support from schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, which have consistently sent students and teachers to participate.
By the end of this year’s program, a total of 49,129 students and teachers had taken part in the activities. This year also marked the first time that young tour guides were given the opportunity to visit and study the history of Chakrabongse Palace, a residence more than 100 years old and associated with the Chakrabongse royal lineage. This visit also contributed to the wider promotion of tourism.
The project is designed to broaden students’ perspectives by providing them with learning experiences outside the classroom. At the same time, it seeks to instill a sense of love and pride in Thai identity through visits to and studies of Thailand’s culture and national history.
In cooperation with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Education, the project takes Grade 5 students from schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on weekend educational trips to important historical sites.
This year’s learning route included Wat Pho, Museum Siam, the Coin Museum, and the Bangkok National Museum. A special route also included Wat Arun Ratchawararam, Thonburi Palace, and Museum Siam. Each route was designed to provide an engaging tourism experience, with an emphasis on learning about important historical sites around Rattanakosin Island.
“The success of the project has inspired the Company to further expand its educational activities for young people. In collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Education, we have also organized the ‘Young Tour Guide Training Program by Allianz Ayudhya’ for students interested in building on their knowledge and developing their skills as young tour guides through historical study and practical training.”
This year, students participating in the young tour guide training completed practical training at Wat Pho under the guidance of Buddhist monks and graduated as the fourth class of young tour guides.
In addition, 10 young tour guides from the first three classes had the opportunity to work by guiding Grade 5 students along the routes of the “Allianz Ayudhya Takes Children on a Bangkok Tour” project. This also enabled them to earn income from their work.
Ms. Patchara added that the young tour guide training course has now been organized for four consecutive classes. The program includes both theoretical and practical training, and a total of 200 participants from Classes 1 to 4 have received certificates.
These young tour guides continue to develop their knowledge through practical experience by providing guided tours at key tourist attractions included in the “Allianz Ayudhya Takes Children on a Bangkok Tour” project for Grade 5 students under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. At present, young tour guides from Classes 1 to 3 are working at Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, or Wat Pho, and the Bangkok National Museum.
“This is another source of pride for us, as we have had the opportunity to help create meaningful opportunities for Thai youth. It reflects our strong commitment to giving back to society. We have continuously initiated and supported a variety of social responsibility activities with the main goal of helping build a better-quality society under the concept ‘Sharing Knowledge with Thai Children.’”
